Capri Island & a Birthday Celebration

Today was a boat trip to the island of Capri. We sailed first thing from Sorrento and did a loop of the island. We couldn't stop at the Blue Grotto because of the tide (this was sad as it is so unique in that you can only enter on small rowing boats and have to lie down in the boat to enter safely). 
We stopped to swim for a bit which was amazing and so warm! 
We then had 3 hours to explore Capri town. Very busy and hot but utterly gorgeous. As long as you didn't spend any money! 
Then, we swam again on the way back. 
This evening we went out for Eoghan's birthday celebration and had steak! And Gnocchi and Carbonara followed by the obligatory Gelato on the way back. 
Sad to say goodbye to such an amazing place tomorrow... Onwards and an 8 hour train ride... That goes on a boat!!!

 A somewhat gruelling 8 hour train ride from the bliss of Sorrento and Napoli today we travelled down the coast to the bottom of Italy's boot and crossed the Straight of Messina by boat across to Sicily. Europe's last train-boat. The train drove onto the ferry. Very Novell! We then continued down to Catania and to our final base for a few days. This evening we took to the pool, followed by some food and now bed! Wrecked.

Issues... but all fun

We are settled now in our hotel room. Our water taxi broke down on the way here - I've uploaded a photo of the poor man trying to fix it.  We are off out for a wander and dinner shortly. Just cooling off a bit! Also, we have Prince of Wales tea.
